Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 9 inches with isolated amounts up to 11 inches have fallen over South Florida since Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are still forecast to fall over South Florida through Friday evening. Flash Flood Warning issued June 12 at 5:39PM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Miami FL At 539 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Hialeah Gardens, and Opa Locka. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Miami Gardens, Weston, Doral, Miami Lakes, Cooper City, Hialeah Gardens, Opa-Locka, Sweetwater, Medley, Pennsuco, Palm Springs North, Intersection Krome And U.S. 27 and Country Club. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
