Heat Advisory issued June 11 at 2:14AM PDT until June 11 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS San Francisco CA * WHAT...Maximum temperatures expected to reach the mid to upper 90's to near 100 degrees across interior portions of the North and East Bay. * WHERE...Mountains of San Benito County and Interior Monterey County including Pinnacles National Park, East Bay Hills, East Bay Interior Valleys, Eastern Santa Clara Hills, North Bay Interior Mountains, North Bay Interior Valleys, and Santa Clara Valley including San Jose. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Those sensitive to heat, such as the homeless, elderly, children, and pets will be at risk for heat-related illnesses. Those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration will be at the greatest risk. Drink plenty of fluids, stay cool, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed. Beat the heat and check the backseat! Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
