Dense Fog Advisory issued September 25 at 5:10AM AKDT until September 25 at 10:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Visibility as low as one quarter mile in dense fog. * WHERE...Glenn Highway Corridor from Birchwood to Northeast Anchorage. * WHEN...Until 10 AM AKDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At 4:30 AM, satellite imagery and highway cameras show an area of locally dense fog developing along the Glenn Highway from Birchwood south toward Northeast Anchorage. The fog is thickest in an area from Eagle River south toward Fort Richardson. This area of dense fog is expected to persist through mid-morning. Areas of fog are also possible this morning throughout the rest of the Anchorage Municipality. A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
