Severe Winds The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction. Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. The Southwest Monsoon enhanced by IGME will also bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today: Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan. Tomorrow (21 September): Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan. Sunday (22 September): Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Zambales. 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters: 1.5 to 3.5 m: The seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, and the western seaboard Southern Luzon. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.0 m: The remaining seaboards of the country Mariners of motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK IGME is forecast to move generally west northwestward until Sunday morning (22 September) before turning north northeastward for the rest of the forecast period. On the forecast track, a landfall and passage over Taiwan area is not ruled out. IGME may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Sunday. IGME is forecast to remain as a Tropical Depression and may gradually weaken into a Low Pressure Area by Monday (23 September) early morning.

Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of Isabela and Lubang Island. IGME is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow (21 September) early morning, turn more west northwestward over the East China Sea for the remainder of tomorrow, then west southwestward on Sunday (22 September) Tonight through tomorrow, IGME will remain a tropical depression (although the possibility of becoming a short-duration tropical storm is not ruled). A passing cold front over the East China Sea will weaken the tropical depression into a low pressure area by Sunday.
