Heavy Rain Watch Area: Wellington, Porirua, Hutt and Upper Hutt Cities, the Kapiti Coast District and Wairarapa south of about Martinborough Forecast: Rain is expected to become heavy this evening, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Rainfall accumulations may approach warning criteria and there is the chance of localised heavy falls of 25 mm per hour, or even more, which will cause surface flooding if it occurs.
