yellow warning - cold - in effect A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues. What: Wind chill values ranging from minus 50 to minus 55. When: Now through to the weekend. Where: Dawson, Mayo, Faro-Ross River, Pelly - Carmacks and Beaver Creek. Remarks: An Arctic ridge of high pressure is bringing mainly clear skies and very cold conditions. Light winds combined with frigid temperatures will result in extreme windchill. Frigid temperatures and wind chill values will likely persist through to the weekend. ### Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
