The heavy rain will taper to light rain Wednesday afternoon before ending Wednesday evening. In addition, strong northerly winds gusting up to 70 km/h will develop tonight and then become westerly Wednesday afternoon. Winds will diminish Wednesday evening. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Utility outages may occur. Possible snowfall accumulation Thursday morning. Timing: Tonight through to Thursday morning. Discussion: A strong low pressure system is forecast to track west of Lake Superior Wednesday. Rain is expected to begin this afternoon near Lake Superior and spread northward, reaching Pickle Lake early Wednesday morning. Total rainfall amounts up to 80 mm are possible, however, the exact location of heaviest rainfall remains a bit uncertain. Rain is expected to mix with or change to snow Wednesday night, with minor snowfall accumulations possible.
