rainfall warning in effect Rain, at times heavy, is expected. What: Rainfall amount of 40 to 60 mm locally. When: Today through late this evening. Where: North Columbia and Kinbasket. Remarks: A strong frontal system will cross the province today bringing heavy showers and a risk of thunderstorms, with the heaviest rain expected this morning through this afternoon. The highest amounts will generally occur in association with thunderstorms. Any thunderstorms that do develop could likely increase the potential for repeated heavy downpours from multiple thunderstorms over the same area resulting in locally heavy rainfall totals. ### Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #BCStorm. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
