The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Lakeshore Flood Watch...which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon. * LAKE SHORE FLOODING...Northeast winds may gust as high as 40 mph Tuesday and Tuesday night which may produce waves 8 to 12 feet along the Illinois shore of Lake Michigan. Winds are expected to turn northwest Wednesday afternoon. * TIMING...Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Expected large waves combined with near record high lake levels could exacerbate already significant beach and shoreline erosion and damage structures along the shore.
