VALLEYS...AND ORANGE COUNTY FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT TUESDAY FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... * LOCATION...Mountains and foothills below 6,000 feet, the valleys, and all of Orange County. * WINDS FOR ORANGE...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES... Widespread northeast winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph, and with isolated gusts to 80 mph below passes and canyons and near the coastal slopes of the Santa Ana Mountains. The winds will not be as strong for tonight and Tuesday and not quite as widespread with winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph. * WINDS FOR SAN DIEGO COUNTY...Areas of northeast winds developing and strengthening this morning and continuing into Tuesday with strongest winds from the mountain ridge tops into the inland valleys with winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Isolated gusts to 55 mph are possible. * HUMIDITY...Decreasing rapidly this morning, falling to 5 to 10 percent with poor recovery for tonight. There may be a slight recovery on Tuesday with lowest humidity around 10 percent. * OUTLOOK...Weaker and less widespread winds for Wednesday and Thursday with a gradual recovery in humidity. * IMPACTS...Fuels will dry quickly this morning with the onset of the winds with increasing fire threat for late today into Tuesday. Outdoor burning should be avoided. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
